    The Professional Higher Technical Course in Bioanalysis and Control at the Escola Superior de Saúde Ribeiro Sanches, of the Instituto Politécnico da Lusofonia, provides the future graduate with fundamental and comprehensive knowledge that cuts across not only the different courses in the health area, but also those in chemistry, the environment and biology. The practical skills and gestures learned and internalized throughout the eminently laboratory training facilitates integration and communication with other health professionals and can provide opportunities for growth and a wide range of job possibilities. It can, of course, motivate and encourage future graduates to continue their studies at a higher level. The growing changes in the business fabric have accelerated the emergence of new careers and professions that were previously non-existent, particularly in biomedicine, which makes it necessary to guarantee the quality of the level of knowledge among the various professionals working in the health sector. The job market regularly sees demand in this sector. Job offers sometimes require candidates to have higher-level training in order to carry out the tasks and skills for which graduates of this Higher Professional Technical Course are clearly suited. The job market reflects the lack of manpower in the area of chemical-biological analysis, which is why IPLUSO - Instituto Politécnico da Lusofonia created this training offer.

    - Holders of the 12th grade or legally equivalent qualification; - Holders of CETs, CTeSPs or higher education degrees; - Over 23s - those who have passed the tests specially designed to assess their ability to attend higher education.

    To train professionals with the skills to carry out and manage the day-to-day activities of chemical and/or biological laboratories, ensuring their proper functioning and carrying out chemical, biological, biochemical, toxicological, hematological, immunological and molecular biology tests and analyses in certified independent laboratories or integrated into companies.

    - Plan and carry out advanced laboratory techniques; - Manage and supervise the use of laboratory equipment in an integrated manner; - Plan and manage the execution of routine chemical and biological tests; - Designing and implementing new experimental procedures based on standards and other documentation; - Preparing technical reports; - Organizing and managing the laboratory's material resources; - Organizing and carrying out statistical analysis in the preparation of standard reports and the presentation of results; - Implementing and executing good laboratory practice protocols in accordance with current legislation approved for the sector; - Organizing and storing reagents according to chemical incompatibilities; - Implementing and executing safety protocols in accordance with current legislation approved for the sector.
