ERISA¿s Graduate Program in Surgical Instrumentation is designed for nurses who wish to develop specialized technical skills through a highly practical training program focused on the realities of the operating room, in partnership with Clínica S. João de Deus. Far more than simply imparting theoretical knowledge, this program provides intensive training in a simulation environment, hands-on experience with surgical instruments in a real operating room setting, the resolution of clinical scenarios, and instruction in the major surgical specialties, culminating in a supervised internship in a real-world setting. Throughout the course, trainees develop skills that enable them to join surgical teams with greater confidence, assurance, and autonomy.

Licenciatura in Nursing.

Develop the skills necessary to perform the role of scrub nurse independently in an operating room setting, covering general surgery and various surgical specialties; Acquire and/or deepen knowledge of specialty-specific instrumentation, reinforcing the theoretical and practical preparation necessary for qualified practice in a surgical setting; Equip trainees with a solid understanding of the principles, techniques, and responsibilities of a scrub nurse, ensuring patient safety and professional protection.

Perform surgical procedures effectively and safely, minimizing the risks of infection, bleeding, and foreign body retention, while ensuring that the patient experiences as little discomfort as possible from the surgical procedure; Recognize the needs of the surgical team and base decision-making on scientific and technical knowledge that enables an understanding of the complexity of surgical procedures and techniques; Ensure the safety of the patient and the environment necessary for the surgical procedure; Apply specialized technical knowledge in the various areas of surgical instrumentation; Understand the workflow and dynamics of the operating room and the surgical equipment specific to each surgical specialty.
