June 25, 2026

Challenges, skills and innovation in teacher education for contemporary educational contexts
On 15 May, the Pedagogical Conferences 2026 took place, dedicated to reflecting on educational innovation and the role of the educator in the 21st century. The event, promoted within the scope of the Portuguese Association of Private Higher Education (APESP), brought together several higher education institutions, including the Polytechnic Institute of Lusofonia (IPLUSO).
The Conferences provided a privileged space for scientific and pedagogical exchange, bringing together researchers, lecturers and students around current and foundational topics in contemporary education, such as inclusive and collaborative educational practices, curricular and organisational innovation, the promotion of well-being in schools and the valorisation of the teaching profession.
IPLUSO stood out for the active participation of more than 20 authors (lecturers and students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Basic Education and the Master’s Degree in Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education and Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education), who presented 14 scientific communications, in individual and co-authorship formats, from the School of Education of Lusofonia (ESEL) and the School of Engineering and Technologies (EET).
