Plural - Exhibition by the Bachelor's Degree in Illustration and Drawing at IPLUSO

Local do Evento:

Avenidas - Um Teatro em Cada Bairro
Objetivos de Desenvoltimento Sustentável (ODS)

A meeting of different languages, narratives and perspectives that reveal the diversity of contemporary illustration.

From 3 July to 25 September, the exhibition by the final-year students of the Bachelor's Degree in Illustration and Drawing (2023–2026) at the School of Communication, Innovation and Arts (ECIA) of IPLUSO will be on display at Avenidas – Um Teatro em Cada Bairro (Lisbon City Council).

“Plural” presents itself as a counterpoint to unilateralism. It represents the coexistence of difference, the acceptance of multiple voices, and the conviction that there is no single way of seeing or telling the world. In this exhibition, students present different ways of observing, interpreting and representing reality through drawing. From the creation of virtual environments to scientific illustration, from picture books to comics, the works brought together form fragments of contemporary narratives that intertwine the real and the imagined. They stand as testimonies from those who have found in illustration a space for expression, dialogue and freedom.

The exhibition brings together the students' work, marking a moment of transition between academic education and artistic development. Each project reveals its own identity; together, however, they create a shared territory: plural, experimental, critical and creative.
